Abu Jafar intricately weaves emotional experiences into captivating art forms, embracing the richness of everything around him. In On My Way, the artist uses a simple palette of emerald green, red, orange, and purple to express hope, struggle, and migration. Completed over nineteen years, the painting serves as a diary of immigrant experiences, particularly those of the Bangladeshi community arriving in the United Kingdom. Jagged lines resembling barbed wire suggest hardship and barriers, while blue streaks evoke rain, memory, and fleeting moments seen through a passing window in search of a new life.
