Alia Mobarik is a Scottish born visual artist currently in her final year of studying Communication Design at the Glasgow School of Art. Mobarik likes to produce art that creates wonderment and a magical sense of the world. Her work draws influence from her past studies in Geology and Environmental Studies where she obtained a BSc (Hons) and MEnvS, respectively. She focuses on environmental issues such as plastic and light pollution whilst instilling a feeling of hope. Mobarik explores the use of analogue mediums such as film photography and cyanotypes and enjoys combining these traditional techniques with digital ones to create more unique pieces of work.
