Point of (No) Return (2024)

Anastasia Isachsen is an artist and curator who works internationally across digital, video and light art. She has developed an interdisciplinary practice defined by a precise, poetic aesthetic and philosophical depth, merging advanced technology with human sensitivity. Based in Oslo, she is the founder and artistic director of Fjord Studio and the Fjord Oslo light art festival. Point of (No) Return is an interactive installation shaped by audience presence. As viewers step into the spotlight in front of the piece, luminous ice melts into flowing water. When they step back, the ice freezes again. The longer viewers engage with the mesmerising visuals, the more the water spirals out of control – eventually turning into a dark storm. The piece prompts reflection on environmental impact, our self-destructive tendencies and the possibility of hope.
