Living and working on the coast of England, Ann Petruckevitch is a photographic artist who, in 2011, received a distinction in Photography from Arts University Bournemouth as part of her Diploma in Art and Design. She uses cameraless, analogue and digital techniques, challenging herself to create images that capture depth, shape and visual impact. Her evolving process is grounded in close observation of the living and abstract world. Taking inspiration from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s quote “Nature knows no pause…”, she explores how nature manifests in the urban area in which she lives, where plants grow through cracks and gaps in pavements. Petruckevitch juxtaposes the nature we know and the nature we don’t, as it surrounds us in everyday spaces.
