In the days following her mother’s death, photographer Arrayah Loynd pointed her camera at the television screen and randomly pressed the shutter. It was only later that she downloaded the images, recognising some small semblance of comfort in the documentation of the moment. The works became the foundation of Where you go, I can't follow, forming an unintentional narrative that traces the experience of loss and grief. Arrayah’s work has been featured in Australian and International publications, art prizes and awards; including Lens Culture, Head On Photo Awards, Photo Lucida Critical Mass, and Australian Photography Awards.
