Bart Seng Wen Long is a London-based artist working primarily with moving image and photography, alongside installations, performance, expanded cinema and alternative curatorial processes. His work explores confrontations between reality and fantasy within the political economy of desire, through autofictional role-playing, S&M poetics and experimental storytelling. He is a KONE Foundation grant awardee and finalist for the Dazed x CIRCA award. He co-curates Kawaii Agency and programmes for Queer East. His short film responds to an interview with a Singaporean rubber fetishist, interweaving colonial histories of rubber plantations, Southeast Asian insurgencies and fetish culture to question linear narratives of history and desire.
