Catherine Bertola creates site-specific installations, drawings, and films that address the invisible histories of women, giving voice to those whose contributions have been undervalued or ignored. Her work excavates the past to confront contemporary inequalities, exploring how absence and erasure operate across time. Materials are central to her practice, from collected dust and salt to gold thread and wallpaper, each chosen for their symbolic weight and connection to history. And ever again is an installation at Middlesbrough station Ticket Hall, where a film interweaves past and present across 147-year history, combining archival and contemporary photographs and steam motifs.
