C G Gooding has worked exclusively behind the camera for 20 years, with an emphasis on instant photography over the past decade. For Gooding, who has a Fine Art background, a portrait is the deepest form of engagement: an honest expression of interest in another person. His work is composed of fragments of conversations with those who interest him most. In Between us, Within us, he explores barriers in human relationships through four individuals, using the body as a canvas where projection, light and gesture examine intimacy, connection and the tensions between distance and closeness.
