Soft Murder (2025)

Dana Wang is a Chinese photographer, based in London, who interrogates the intersections of power, identity and social disparity. Her work spans body politics and geopolitical observation. Whilst Soft Murder deconstructs the Western gaze, her broader practice explores the nuances of womanhood and the structural inequalities that shape it. Through poetic, meditative imagery, she creates space to navigate the tension between being seen and reclaiming agency. Soft Murder explores how Asian women are perceived and redefined within Western contexts, revealing duality between submissive stereotypes and bodily resistance, challenging imposed definitions and exposing tensions between being seen and reclaiming agency.
