Deborah Timperley brings over 25 years of expertise in glass casting, earning recognition for her evocative and tactile sculptures. Her work has been showcased internationally - iin Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and Lithuania - as well as at leading UK exhibitions such as the British Glass Biennale and Collect. My unique rocky sculptures explore the beauty of both the natural landscape and mans’ interventions within the landscape. They include, harbour walls, rock pools and coral reefs below the sea. Compositions are evocative of the landscape and suggest rocks and stones placed harmoniously together, contrasting defined edges with the softness of adjacent vegetation. The blocks of colour echo the surrounding landscape, water and sky. They have a sense of place and atmosphere. My newest pieces reflect the rays of the sun over the landscape and shafts of light through water to coral reefs, a combination of depth of colour and translucency.
