Ela Skorska works predominantly with analogue photography, Super 8, sculpture and painting. While pursuing her BA in Photography at MMU, the artist studied Fine Arts in Spain, an experience that expanded her practice. Skorska’s work explores the interplay of light and shadow within the urban environment. She focuses on the overlooked beauty, abstraction, and geometrical shapes. Her images are made during walks around her local surroundings, capturing the "decisive moment" a shadow or beam of light falls just right. In her ongoing project Abstract Reality, she explores subconscious perception, geometry and analogue process, working in black-and-white to reveal overlooked moments within urban space.
