Eloise Fabre is an artist and illustrator working in Japan. After graduating from Oxford University with a first-class degree in Japanese studies, she explored the transient ideas surrounding Japanese spirits and spirituality in her MA work, Animations. Her practice focuses on blurring lines between the physical and virtual worlds, with an interest in transhumanist and post-structuralist thought. Animation is a Shinto-like reflection on how we exist in time and space as part of the natural elements, and blends footage of the artist and water, wind, the outdoors with footage of the artist, using a primitive AI meant to assist with 2D animation.
