Emi Kusano is a Tokyo-born multidisciplinary artist whose work blends nostalgia and innovation through a retro-futuristic lens. Beginning as a street photographer documenting Harajuku youth, her early work was exhibited at the V&A Museum. Today, she uses AI to create hyper-realistic representations of memory - both personal and collective - within Japanese society and beyond. Her practice spans visual art, music, and fashion, often questioning the nature of humanity across time. Kusano’s projects include collaborations with Gucci and Christie’s, and she fronts Satellite Young, a band reimagining 1980s J-POP through sci-fi aesthetics.
