Filip Haglund

Sphinx (2024)

Scottish-born artist Filip Haglund works across lens-based media, combining analogue techniques - such as film photography, phonotropes and cyanotypes - with contemporary digital processes. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art with a background in Geology and Environmental Studies, his practice considers environmental themes including sustainability and light pollution, often capturing a sense of wonder and hope. Haglund also engages with ideas of identity, power and mental health. Drawing on personal experiences with bipolar disorder, he frames the body as a complex site of both fragility and resilience, using image-making as a form of critical reflection.
