McDonough’s photography is inextricably linked to landscape and the natural world. She creates still life tableaux using found creatures and objects, and explores connections between the mundane, the surreal and the extraordinary through repeated themes and forms found within urban surroundings. Often, the quiet nature of the work is reflected in careful groups of images sequenced together as installation or grids and presented as installations in specific locations.
