Celeste (2024)

Joanna Manousis is a visual artist working with glass sculpture, with a particular focus on cast glass mirrors. Her practice explores perception, reflection, and the shifting relationship between viewer, object, and space. Through material experimentation and research-led making, she investigates how glass surfaces mediate presence and absence, creating contemplative encounters with light, memory, and self-awareness. Her installation Celeste (2024) consists of 440 mirrored glass prisms forming a shifting field of reflection inspired by Indra’s Net, where mirrored voids and refracted light evoke interconnection, perception and collectivity, inviting viewers into a balance between individuality and the unseen.
