Joanna Vestey’s visual practice blends photography and sound to explore time, stewardship and fragile ecosystems. Travelling across the UK’s temperate rainforests, she created 3 Days | 2 Nights by capturing long-exposure photographs on film and recording ambient forest sounds. Her large-format images, made by leaving shutters open for hours, evoke the healing qualities and vulnerability of these rare environments. Vestey’s work acts as a meditation on nature’s resilience, urging reflection on ecological preservation and the intimate relationship between humans and landscape.
