The pandemic was an enormously complex time, during which the world found itself in an intermediate, indeterminate, and, unfortunately, divided space. ‘Cut Off’ was created during this period. By working with minimalist austerity, Teti transmits this state of fragmentation and isolation to canvas. A monochrome, cloud-filled sky is abstracted through the layering of a black void at the bottom of the canvas – obstructing your vision. Teti is a Minsk-born interdisciplinary contemporary artist, researcher and composer of chamber music. Her background in the architecture of musical scores, as well as experiments with improvisation and sound, influence her drawings and paintings.
