UK-based sound artist and composer, Kelly Ann Buckley creates audio-visual works rooted in field recording, narrative and ecology, drawing on a background in journalism, multimedia arts and songwriting. Her practice bridges science and ancestral knowledge, with her award-winning film Med Selkies reflecting an ongoing exploration of past, present and speculative environmental futures through sound-led storytelling. In Med Selkies, layered field recordings and sparse voiceover form a mythic ecological narrative drifting between past and future, imagining human and more-than-human adaptation to environmental change through sound-driven storytelling.
