Kexin Liu’s speculative practice interrogates the intertwined relationship between humanity, technology and nature. In her 3607 Bacterial Soundscape series, she collaborated to translate the biodata of trillions of bacteria living within her into vinyl soundscapes, blurring boundaries between micro and macro worlds. This project redefines human autonomy, inviting reconsideration of our interconnectedness with microbial life and broader ecological systems. Liu currently resides at Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio and is active with ASCUS Art and Science.
