Berlin based artist Manja Ebert works at the intersection of media art and the networked digital present, examining the shifting functions of images and videos in a world where content is created and shared as second nature. Through the collection of found footage from various media, she artistically transforms content into sculptural installations that reveal hidden structures and power dynamics in communication media. In Hard Feelings, five screens form a composite image of reality dating shows, where slowed rose ceremony moments and emotional text fragments are distorted to deconstruct idealised love and critique the commodification of romance and its parallels with the intimate desires of consumers under the guise of entertainment culture.
