Marc Provins’ practice explores the margins: geographic, social and bodily, as sites of possibility. Their work centres on the overlooked edges of the landscape and chance encounters through processes that embrace fragmentation, accident and imperfection. An Echo Between is a diaristic exploration of perception, embodiment and queer experience, reflecting on the body of time. Provins used a portable scanner to record fragments of bodies, objects and environments, creating images that hover between abstraction and recognition. The slivers of images for rhythms and narratives that exceed single moments, offering a layered map of memory, identity and queer experience.
