Marian Obando creates animations using an array of art materials: watercolour, charcoal, oil pastels, acrylic paint, scratch film, origami paper, pixilation, video, found objects, found footage and other mixed media. Obando's films explore memories, dreams and the body, as expressed through music and dance improvisation. She takes an experimental approach to animation, with films screened at festivals including Animateka, Animafest Zagreb and Holland Animation Film Festival. Obando will have her first solo show in 2026 at Chapel Arts Studios, after completing her MA in Animation at Central St Martins.
