Marilou Chagnaud is a UK-based artist whose practice spans printmaking, sculpture and site-specific installation. Working primarily with textiles and paper, she develops a visual language of line, colour and pattern that responds to its surroundings. Through repetitive processes such as screen-printing, folding and dyeing, she explores how soft materials transform and carry traces of the spaces they inhabit. Engaging both urban and natural environments, her work creates sensory experiences that evoke lightness, movement and impermanence. Her project The Sea, the Ghost, and the Kite Maker responds to the Norfolk coastline’s accelerating erosion. 15 Kites is part of this project; the screen-printed paper kites embody transience, wind and changing landscapes.
