Monica Gorini is an expert in para-verbal languages through her studies and the experience gained over many years working with blind and visually impaired people. She has taught theatre and sculpture and led workshops developing artistic and poetic creativity and the understanding of artworks through multisensoriality and emotion. Working across painting, sculpture, photography, video and installations, her cross-modal approach to nature emphasises interconnection between the senses, close to synaesthesia, and reflects a holistic view of an intelligence of the universe, encompassing mathematical, botanical, philosophical, aesthetic, scientific, poetic and spiritual knowledge. She seeks an aesthetic that stimulates reflection, social conscience and a spiritual ecology of the world. Her installation The Door (2021) presents a framed landscape inviting interaction, where natural environments and stone elements shift with weather and perception.
