Pace Freeman is an Amsterdam-based artist whose self-taught practice is shaped by experience gained through repetition and time. His process is grounded in presence. Meaning accumulates through doing – through decisions, revisions and what remains. Freeman’s process is intuitive and unhurried. Each piece unfolds in its own time, without striving for an end. Lines appear again and again – as echoes of structure and possibility. These lines run through the artist’s photography too – suggesting there is a code, a pattern, a choice. In Becoming, Freeman presents a self-portrait as a shifting document of presence, transformation and perception.
