Words create worlds. This is the foundation of Pier Lorenzo Pisano’s work. The award-winning artist, writer and director works across theatre, film, performance and installation. Words appear as magical sequences of symbols, whether on paper or on an interactive device, projecting meaning and instruction. Pisano’s pieces, which traverse media, are rooted in primordial myths. In LOSSES, he tells the story of an ended love through a receipt-like farewell letter filled with objects, memories and coffee stains. It forms an incomplete inventory of shared moments, ending in a number that, when inverted, spells “LOSSES.”
