Reine Paradis lives and works in Los Angeles, California and received a BA from Gobelins School in Paris. Known for her unmistakable use of colour and outlandish process, her work spans self-portrait photography, painting, performance, sculpture and video. Through immersive installations, she examines pathways between realities and fantasies, and viewers are invited to cross the border into a colorful and candidly surreal landscape. She exhibits internationally, with solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Miami, Mexico City, Denver and New York. Her series Eclipse (15 self-portraits) is developed through staged, performative processes involving imagined scenarios, constructed sets, costumes and meticulous post-production, projecting her vision into a surreal photographic world.
