Sam Joseph is a visual artist, filmmaker and RCA PhD researcher whose interdisciplinary practice examines how cinema and media shape narratives of violence against women. Joseph expands her storytelling beyond the screen into immersive environments that invite reflection and dialogue. Joseph’s internationally award-winning films challenge victim stereotyping and victim-blaming, subverting dominant visual codes. Her work honours survivors whilst advocating feminist and ethical approaches to representing violence. Her work Fallen is an immersive film, VR and installation that confronts fatal violence against women through dance, visual poetry and performance, reclaiming narratives of survival, resilience and emotional resistance within domestic spaces.
