Sara Clark

Mimic II (2023)

Our understanding of a place is influenced by its social, cultural and historical context. Sara Clark’s work explores how physical spaces connect with our mental and emotional experiences. She is particularly interested in how memories can be triggered or represented through constructed environments, and she investigates shifts in form, scale and medium. Recently, Clark has focused on abandoned or empty spaces, using them as a starting point to explore how light behaves in confined settings. Her work often centres on post-industrial sites, where she can examine the connections between different spaces and how they affect one another.
