Shinji Ichikawa

Pine Trees (2023)

Shinj Ichikawa was raised in a family-run photo studio in Shimane, Japan. He developed a strong interest in conceptual photography during a stay in New York, and now draws inspiration from painting and sculpture to navigate the elusive boundaries between existence and space. Now based in Japan, Ichikawa’s work reveals unseen forces, inviting viewers to contemplate the fragile, metaphysical layers of reality. Through minimalist aesthetics and philosophical inquiry, his images encourage a thoughtful reflection on perception and the nature of being.
