Sophia Chefalo is an artist and researcher whose practice investigates post-technical imaging beyond human sensory limits. Working across theory, archival engagement, and exhibition, this work draws on media theory, aesthetics, and philosophy of technology to interrogate how contemporary image-making exceeds photography's corporeal boundaries. Currently completing an MS in Art, Culture, and Technology at MIT, Chefalo has exhibited internationally and published in Flusser Studies. Through acquired 8mm home videos of S.F. Smith’s family life, she uses genealogical research and film manipulation to explore how preserving memory becomes an act of creation, transforming fleeting moments into tangible experiences beyond individual identity.
