DECADE compresses 10 years of daily news into layered visual records of collective experience and reflection. Over the course of a decade, Tokyo-based photographer Soushi Tanaka took multiple exposures of the morning newspaper and posted the images online. The project concluded on 31 March 2025, and has now been compiled into a single photographic. The project considers how small “parts” accumulate into a larger whole, using repeated photographic processes of daily, monthly, and yearly newspaper images to reflect on time, society, and change.
