Theo Hey is an artist-blacksmith based on the Bailiwick of Jersey. His work explores the structural elements of flora. He creates sculptures which pair expressive organic forms with rigid geometric constructions, embodying the relationship between industrial design and natural growth. Hey is a recent graduate, and hopes to introduce the public to the world of contemporary forged metal. He believes narrative is vital to handmade objects, and, as such, chooses to leave heavy hammer marks and forge scale textures in his work – reminders of the processes involved.
