The Stockholm-based artist Ulf Lundin works primarily in the field of photography and video. He has over the years been interested in questions concerning photography and the photographic gaze, as well as everyday life. He has used different strategies in different projects to try to make the mundane interesting. In Best of Sweden he photographed everyday places around Sweden; places that you don't normally connect with the stereotypical images of this country. It doesn’t matter if he starts today or tomorrow, he is photographing the things that happen all the time. He begins photographing one hour before the sunrise and continues until it sets. Later, through post-production, he makes a new image with fragments from all the pictures he took during the day, which captures the entire day instead of a glimpse of time.
