Victoria Ahrens

Giving the Blues (2025)

Photography, materiality and landscape shape Victoria Ahrens’ exploration of the fragility of memory, history and ecofeminist imagery. Her series Giving the Blues focuses on the Cascate delle Marmore waterfall in Italy, reflecting on constructed landscapes, the Anthropocene and the sublime through blue pigment prints and photo-etchings. Throughout the series, turquoise and Prussian blue position waterfalls as a “blueprint” natural history. She holds a PhD and MA in Photography, Printmaking and Theory, and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, and is the recipient of the Celeste Photography Prize and Clifford Chance Print Prize.
