Victoria Ahrens

Giving the Blues (2025)

Engaging with photography, materiality and landscape, Victoria Ahrens explores the fragility of memory, history and ecofeminist imagery. She holds a PhD and MA in Photography, Printmaking and Theory, and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, and has exhibited and won awards including the Celeste Photography Prize and Clifford Chance Print Prize. Her series Giving the Blues focuses on the Cascate delle Marmore in Italy, reflecting on constructed landscapes, the Anthropocene and the sublime through blue pigment prints and photo-etchings. She states that she chooses turquoise and Prussian blue to print waterfalls as a “blueprint” of illusion and natural history.
