Ukraine-based photographer Yevhen Samuchenko studies the shifting relationship between humankind and the environment. His minimalist photographs carry a contemplative, philosophical undertone, often showing the fragility of our natural world. Winter Drawings was created in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine, where he used a drone after long winter hikes to capture minimalist rural scenes resembling pencil sketches. His work has been featured in magazines, books, and online platforms such as BBC, The New York Times, The Times, National Geographic Traveller, UNESCO, Nikon, the Royal Photographic Society and others.
