Yirou Qin is a multidisciplinary practitioner working across illustration, animation and the moving image. Her practice is guided by intuition, often beginning with a specific idea, image, or feeling, and developing through the process of making. Her work explores themes of language, translation and miscommunication, with a particular interest in how meaning is constructed, altered and lost. Working across still and moving image, she approaches each project by searching for an appropriate visual and narrative form. She recently completed an MA in Illustration at Kingston University and is currently based in London. In God Says, she uses a mockumentary format to depict a ritual of translating and misinterpreting divine messages.
