In her complex and mysterious digital collages, Bianca Artopé deals with the contradictions of human existence and questions our view of the world. She combines various photographs where time and space, new and old, nature and architecture overlap both in form and substance. These atmospheric scenes leave room for the viewers' own associations. The Munich–based artist has developed a unique technique in which she prints her collages on leaf silver and casts them in epoxy resin. This way, the digital is transformed into a handmade artwork. It reflects the light, allowing the work to appear differently from every point of view. In addition to her collages, she has received several awards for her conceptual video and sound installations.
