The paintings of UK-based artist Hannah Thomas, ponder existentialist dilemmas surrounding personal freedom and the way we move through the world around us. Amorphous, biomorphic forms and disembodied anatomical elements – particularly teeth – exist in a state of tension amidst fragmented and disjointed landscapes. She works mainly with acrylics for their quick drying properties and sees painting as an intensely physical experience, working on large scale canvases. She is currently based in Wiltshire and works out of her studio full-time.
