Richard Zeiss’s practice is holistic and, at its core, is led by a curiosity about how we perceive the world. He is particularly interested in the thresholds where different modes rub against each other, and even break. Zeiss starts from the premise that art creates non-verbal knowledge and tests the fringes of phenomenal perception. A given work may manifest in any number of aesthetic outputs – painting, film, writing, coding, objects, social intervention.
