Roland Biermann

Deep Space / TWA (2023)

Roland Biermann is a London-based conceptual artist working with photography, film, sculpture and installation. He explores change and transformation across time, space and society. Previously, Biermann explored what divides and separates us: the video white cube / white wall looked at the relationship between freedom of movement and man-made borders, whilst 2020 explored the effects of the pandemic, like changes in individual behaviour and a society divided over vaccines and other issues. Now, the focus is on what unites humankind. Deep Space / TWA looks at the dream of space travel by merging the futuristic architecture of the former TWA terminal at JFK airport with the idea of the vanishing point.
