Sound couldn’t be perceived if it didn’t run into something first. As we navigate this world and interact with it, we do this in the midst of sound. Interchangeably, we are both the receivers and transmitters of it. Jeremy Davis is a sound sculptor interested in that space between its origin and destination. Between people. Between the first and last page. That critical distance can be far, but in truth, it only takes a moment to traverse the transmission. The space in between the source and the receiver is predefined. Davis finds that space is active, full of energy, not too dissimilar to the space between birth and death - both take a certain amount of time to resolve.
