Marianne Broch works with nature’s own material, mostly wood collected on long hikes in wild Norwegian mountains. Wandering in nature like life itself is meandering through yet untouched experiences. Her work is a study of contrasts in nature and in our human minds. The encounter and coexistence between a fragile human with a strong creative mind and massive but mouldable old tree. Both are marked through life, yet they receive energy through their roots in nature. Her practice is a process of unveiling vulnerability in strength and finding strength in vulnerability. She is on a quest to search for the true, the real and the core.
